Runaway and Homeless Youth National Grantee Training
The Runaway and Homeless Youth (RHY) National Grantee Training is an annual event featuring training opportunities, networking, and workshops for RHY grantees and members of the youth services field including youth and young adults. These training opportunities are intentionally diverse and cut across all Family and Youth Services Bureau's (FYSB) RHY grant programs: Basic Center Program (BCP), Street Outreach Program (SOP), Transitional Living Program (TLP), and Maternity Group Home (MGH). They respond to different experience levels (new, experienced, and advanced), and they cover the "Four Core" outcome areas (education and employment, safe and stable housing, social and emotional well-being, and permanent connections). The annual National Training is truly a testament to the breadth and depth of RHY work being performed by FYSB grantees.
2026 RHY National Grantee Training
Save the date for the 2026 RHY National Grantee Training. This year’s theme is “Building Lasting Connections for RHY: Strengthening Youth, Families, and Communities.” Our focus is on how supporting young people in developing positive ongoing connections with their families and communities is foundational to achieving the RHY Program's Core Outcomes. These strong relationships support youth's social/emotional well-being, advancements in their educational and employment pursuits, and safe and stable housing options.

For over 50 years, participants have had the opportunity to connect with federal staff, network with other grantees, and learn new and innovative strategies for sustainably integrating and implementing RHY programming into communities. Additionally, participants have the opportunity to learn more about effective strategies being implemented by grantees across the country through sessions and workshops. This event has provided a significant opportunity for individuals to come together to share knowledge, experiences, and creativity in order to pursue the common goal of providing effective services to young people experiencing runaway and homeless situations.
